As a company with a fair number of employees, we are responsible for the impact of our business on society and the environment. We are living in a globalised and fast-changing world, where the environment needs special care. We believe in more than doing our bit. We believe that actions need to speak for themselves. Direct Blinds have implemented new policies to have a positive impact on the environment.
Safe and Healthy
All parts of our blinds and curtains comply with appropriate regulations. No part or material used in the manufacture of our products will contain toxic or harmful substances. One of our main aims is to reduce our carbon footprint. We are supporting the Make It Safe Campaign by providing the necessary safety equipment to our customers free of charge. We always encourage and educate customers on making their blinds safe for children.
We want to make sure that we are using only local, trusted suppliers when possible to reduce our carbon footprint. We are always seeking new ways to reduce the carbon footprint at our production facilities. Direct Blinds as a manufacturer follows the model of 5 R’s – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle. For example, the majority of our packaging is made from recycled materials. Also, we are shredding waste cardboard in-house to reduce the usage of bubble wrap. We are introducing paperless systems and approaches.
Energy Efficient and Responsible
Direct Blinds’ goal is to keep reducing the amount of energy we use as a company. We also encourage our customers to energy save by providing options of thermal or interlined thermal lining on our Roman blinds or curtains. Our packaging is marked appropriately to stimulate recycling. We advise to recycle or upcycle our products when they are no longer needed. Direct Blinds contributes to the local community. We are regularly donating to Kirkwood Hospice and supporting different projects.
We are responsible for encouraging our staff, partners and consumers to choose sustainable options. We are always seeking the ways to improve to make the world a better place.
